Taste of SoulCollage® Card-Making Workshop

*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 07/12/2023
SoulCollage® is an expressive arts practice done individually or in community. Seena B. Frost founded the method, which develops creativity and intuition, encourages self-discovery, and provides personal guidance. SoulCollage® meets you wherever you are on this journey called life. You don’t have to be an artist to make SoulCollage® cards. In this 2-hour workshop, you will get an introduction to the process and ample time to journal and share your insights.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This is a 2-hour ONLINE Zoom workshop. SoulCollage® is a joyful gentle, intuitive, creative process that involves creating small collage cards that participants use as a powerful tool for ongoing self-reflection, self-awareness, and community building. Our session will focus on the two essential elements that are the essence of SoulCollage®: Finding compelling images (cutting out and pasting them) and speaking aloud or journaling from the image point of view (the I Am One Who… process).

We use a joyful process of making small, 5” x 8” collages from pictures and images that intuitively catch your eye. No artistic tendencies are required – just an open heart and a willingness to engage. A personal deck of cards can reflect one’s self and provide unique insights when cards are “read” using an easy and insightful process gained through a guided journaling process. The participants in this workshop will engage in the reflective process to create collage cards that they can use as tools for prayer, meditation & connecting with their inner spirituality or soul wisdom.

This workshop is being held on Zoom. The cost is $30. You must register in advance. Basic cardmaking supplies will be mailed to you if you register ten days in advance. To learn more and register for this workshop, visit https://artworksmichigan.com/.../soulcollage-card-workshop/. A Zoom link and supply list will be sent to you after registering. This workshop is perfect for first-timers and experienced card-makers who want dedicated time and space for cardmaking and witnessing. All levels are welcome, but no experience is necessary!

Sasha is an expressive arts educator/consultant and SoulCollage® facilitator. Sasha sees teaching art as the fifth component of empowering individuals to be literate. She has learned that listening, speaking, reading, writing, and visioning/viewing are integrated parts of a whole. Literacy is critical in communication, and communication is one of the essential skills in a democratic society. On a community front, in the home context, in employment, and at school – communication is fundamental to life and colors what it means to be human. Her teaching focuses on creative and critical thinking, connection, compassion, and community in one-on-one sessions or small groupsYou can learn more about her and her work @ https://artworksmichigan.com/about-sasha/.
